Pornind din Curtea de Arges, trecand pe langa cetatea Poenari, band o cafea la Balea Lac sau peste munti langa "Constantin Brancoveanu", ajungand pe Valea Oltului la Cascada Lotrisor si pe la Cozia, urcand apoi la Voineasa si la Vidra, coborand la Obarsia Lotrului, urcand la Calcescu si coborand prin Valea Frumoasei, prin Capalna la Sebes, apoi urcand la Salasul de Sus si apoi si mai sus, la Cascada Lolaia si intr-un final de la Garda la Scarisoara si cu un ultim popas la Lacul Ghioroc, mi-am pus intrebarea de mai sus timp de o saptamana.

Cea mai fericita zi din viata noastra. S-a nascut Karina Maria dupa o munca de 22 de ore. La nastere a primit nota 8 din partea doctoritei, iar dupa 5 minute 9. Irma zice ca 10 ia doar copilul lui Superman. Si cum Invisible Woman naste foarte rar, nota 9 e cam cea mai mare din zona. :)

Povestea

1. The Beginnings. Totul a inceput pe 28 ianuarie la ora 10 seara cand Irma, foarte funny, a venit la mine si mi-a spus (nu mai stiu daca in engleza sau romana): 'Either i pied on myself or my water just broke'. Pe moment m-am panicat, dar cum sunt o fire foarte calma din fire, mi-am revenit imediat si am inceput sa pun ultimele lucruri in bagaj. Bineinteles ca la fel de bine as fi putut sa-l las si pe Mitza sa-mi faca bagajul, ca ar fi fost acelasi rezultat:)). In fine, in 40 de minute eram la spital, cu Imre sofer, care pe drum ne-a zis ca masina e un pic defecta, nu prea mai are frane...pe spate, dar sa nu ne facem probleme ca pe fata sunt ca noi.

2. Spitalul. Dupa un consult KTG (care inseamna ca poti vedea frecventa batailor inimii copilului si frecventa contractiilor mamei, n-are legatura cu serviciile secrete rusesti mai deloc), ne-au condus intr-o camera spatioasa, cu baie si tot ce trebuie pentru nastere (bine, eu ulterior m-am prins ca acolo o sa si nastem). Eram cu bagajele dupa mine (le-am si filmat ca sa vada Tudor ca are un fin vrednic sa-i calce pe urme...intelege el). Si atunci a inceput. Ce? Cea mai lunga zi din viata mea. Pana pe la 2 dimineata a fost usor, am citit un pic, am filmat camera, a trecut repede. Dar problema era lipsa contractiilor. Irmei i-au pus apoi perfuzii cu ceva hormoni ca sa inceapa aceste nemaipomenite contractii (si acum vad in fata ochilor ecranul aparatului asta KTG si graficul contractiilor pe care le-am urmarit timp de vreo...10 ore cred...). Pana pe la 5 dimineata, ne-am rugat. Dupa cum urmeaza: Irma se ruga sa inceapa durerile, eu sa n-o doara prea tare, ca auzisem de la Inga ca o mamica ii muscase jumate de ureche tatalui din cauza durerilor:). Si mai imi era si mila de ea, normal.:)).

Atunci s-a declansat DUREREA. Si a tot continuat. Eu, intre timp, incercam sa fur un pic de somn ca sa fiu apt mai incolo. Bineinteles ca am incercat sa fac chestia asta chiar in patul de gravida si surprinzator chiar am reusit. In total vreo ora - ora jumate. Irma mi-a spus ca tot veneau asistente, infirmiere, doctori si toti se intrebau daca o sa castig premiul de 1 mil de dolari al lui Chaplin. Probabil ca primul lor gand n-a fost tocmai asta, dar mie asa imi place sa cred.

3. Contractiile. Timp de 16 ore, Irma a suportat cele mai aprige dureri din viata ei, cred. La un moment dat i-au facut epidurala (astia cu copii inteleg mai bine termenul) ca sa se dilate si sa-i slabeasca durerile. Insa, singurul care a slabit in noaptea asta am fost eu si din pacate nu suficient. Ecranul aparatului respectiv e foarte frumos, e flat, are ceva actibilde pe el si un nume care n-are nicio legatura cu realitatea: STAN. Putea fi si BRAN ca oricum nimeni n-a ras vreodata in fata lui. Eventul dupa, cand era stins si cred ca nu de el:). In mod normal as fi fost mai disperat, dar avand in vedere ca nu stiu 100% estona (nu dau acum procentul ca sunt modest) si cum nimeni n-avea chef sa-mi dea mie explicatii amanuntite, am fost destul de calm. Daca n-am reusit s-o innebunesc pe Irma cu intrebarile, asta se datoreaza doar calitatilor ei diplomatice. Sau poate indiferentei fata de un sot nebun care o intreba dupa fiecare conversatie cu doctorii despre ce-a fost vorba, mai ales in ultima parte a travaliului.

Partea asta trebuie sa fie foarte lunga, ca sa va chinui si pe voi un pic. Dar poate nu toti dintre voi merita si atunci o mai ciopartesc, spunand doar ca la un moment dat a venit Inga, m-a inlocuit un timp, dupa care doctorita a zis ca nu ne mai putem schimba cum vrem noi si sa ne hotaram care dintre noi ramane. Normal ca am ramas eu, doar ca s-o pot trage pe Irma de par din 3 in 3 minute, apoi din 2 in 2 si apoi cam incontinuu, pana cand s-a prins ce fac si mi-a zis s-o tin doar de mana.

4. Nasterea. Partea asta e cea mai scurta. Atat din punctul meu de vedere, pentru ca am lasat un profesionist langa Irma, pe sora-sa care a nascut de 3 ori deja, cat si din punctul Irmei, pentru ca a durat doar vreo 30 de minute. Si nici nu vreau sa intru in amanunte, cum ca ar fi putut sa-i faca cezariana sau sa foloseasca pompa de vacuum in anuminte momente ale procesului, pe care eu le-am aflat ulterior.

5. Copilul. Asteptand 2 etaje mai jos (nevrand sa supar asa tare personalul spitalului) si penduland apoi intre cele 2 etaje, am inceput sa-i iau la intrebari pe doctori, asistente, moase si probabil si pe femeia de serviciu (mi-am dat seama de chestia asta ca a fost singura care nu stia engleza). Un doctor foarte tanar mi-a spus ca o sa fiu tatic pana la ora 9 seara [stia el ce stia, ca nu degeaba lua salar si surprinzator, doar salar, ca de altfel toti cei de aici din spital. Ar fi chiar o jignire si sigur caz penal orice incercare de premiere (Mura, nu e la ce te gandesti tu:)]. La 8 si 8 minute am fost anuntat ca sunt tatic, dar ca mai trebuie sa astept vreo 20 de minute pana sa-mi pot vedea copilul. Si cum sunt o fire foarte calma si rabdatoare, ca doar ma stiti, m-am dus imediat in sala. Karina tocmai se nascuse si tipa de zor in bratele doctoritei (a nu stiu cata de cand a inceput povestea. S-au schimbat vreo 3 ture de personal si toti au fost extraordinari, chiar daca o mica parte din ei erau cam aerieni: vezi femeia de serviciu de mai sus). Emotiile m-au coplesit abia dupa ce am vazut-o si pe Irma, care era foarte bine, cam alba la fata ce-i drept, dar dupa toate prin cate trecuse, ma mir ca nu era verde. Dupa cateva minute mi-au dat fetita in brate si atunci am simtit cat sunt de fericit si de emotionat. Cel mai frumos moment din viata mea (alaturi desigur de momentul cand am cunoscut-o pe Irma sau de momentul cand ea a spus DA). Ea e minunea noastra.

Las epilogul pentru alta data intrucat mi-am cam neglijat atributiunile de tatic (si unluckly nu sunt acelea de a bea bere sau cel putin nu inca, apropos nu va planificati nimic vineri, 27 februarie sau duminica, 29..hahaha).

Am tot avut chef de scris de cand am ajuns aici, dar parca niciodata nu am timp. Ziua e oricum mai scurta si inca sunt multe de facut. Pentru amatorii de statistici:

In rest...a nins cam 2 zile incontinuu,
mergem din 2 in 2 zile la bazin si facem si sauna (din aia finlandeza, intre 90 si 100 grade). Si surprinzator chiar imi place.

Dar nu stiu daca as avea curajul sa intru in mare imediat dupa cum fac unii pe aici.

The Wodden Story

Last week we created a story.
In the middle of the wood, there were a princess (Irma), a hero (me), a bad wolf (Paul), the horse (Cristina) and the teller (Iris).
First, the wolf came and surounded the princess (ask Iris how), then the hero came with his horse having a pleasant and nice conversation to rescue the princess. The sword was too heavy for the hero and that's why he picked up a brown leaf and fought the wolf. It was an easy fight, the wolf was to dizzy to react and he ran away.
So the princess was rescued, then we all had a nice lunch at the restaurant near by together with the thieves. Beautiful Sunday, funny director, good food!

"Gonduzau" - the places where everything started and ended. Like a perfect circle, Mihai left Romania 1 year ago, on the 1st of May, from this place and came back exactly one year later.
What is Gonduzau? Who cares what it is? Do you speak Hungarian, cause i know i don't? Bebe's favourite place, Aurica's favourite place, Mihai's and my favourite bar. Yes it's a bar (more accurate: "bodega"), but it's more than that, it's the place where memories are born.

Why everybody is late at work?
Why nobody is really trying to make a change? (and they always say they will)
Why we are too lazy to reply to all the e-mails we get?
Why sometimes it's so easy to do one thing and impossible to do another and the next day is the other way around?

Why we are so tired during the week sleeping the same much as during the weekends?
Why do we have to go to work?
AAAA, that's why!
Why sometimes we have so many guests that we have to say no to some of them and sometimes nobody comes?
Why we have to write 10 e-mails looking for something and the answer we'll get from the first one?
Why do we meet people we don't need at the right time and people we really need at the wrong time? And sometimes people we don't need at the wrong time?
For this i have the answer: to meet people you need at the right time once every 10 years:))

2008 - a New Begining!

So my dear reader, i'll start by explaining why i need this. I'm not sure how normal is for a guy to keep a diary, but i'm sure a freak. I started keeping one in my highschool years and so far i filled up almost 1 notebook, full of boring, amazing, crazy stories of my life. At some point i only recorded the difficult moments, the crisis ones. Then my life was so happy that i didn't need to write anymore using the same criteria. But soon, my best friend left Romania for 1 year and i found another good reason to keep a diary:)) First about him and of course, being too complicated, i ended up writing more and more about my life.
And, of course, being too complicated to write the old fashioned way...you can read these lines:)

Last night we had another HCS meeting (hospitalityclub.org, couchsurfing.com) and that's the main cause of my headache now. I think it was the best meeting we had so far, we laughed a lot and Oana had the great idea of promoting the clubs on television.I'll tell you all about it when it will become a fact.

By the way, Mihai is in India now and he will spend the next 3 months there where everything is shiny...We're waiting for the 1st of May. Gonduzau is ours (or more like Bebe's:)))

Everything looked so easy 4 month ago...After talking (chating, skype-ing) with Mihai i realize that is a pretty stupid thing to try to translate his blog. It would look like a re-make, re-furbished blog, even if it's in English. So i've decided that i'll try to write something new, something more-or-less original. And of course, he will be the main poll, the main subject or just the pretext....
On the other hand he, all the time, told me that nobody is reading his blog and i'm guesing that is just a lousy excuse for him beeing too lazy to write in his own blog. So, Mihai, if you ever read this, trust me there are people who still care... who still wants to know how's Asia through your eyes....who dream about gathering some money and start flying.
Last time i spoke with Mihai (i think last week, probably on Thursday) he was in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, an impressive city...Waiting to hear from him....

Anyway, they made it to Brno in 12-13 hours and Claudia, Bila's friend, cooked them 3 different dishes (actually i don't know, was it for the dishes or the Romanian way of preparing them that impressed Mihai so much). It took him 3 days to realize that it's so hard to be a tourist - sitting and drinking all day long and getting tired in the evening.

Everybody checking the blog and nothing being on it, made Mihai take one day off to work on his blog.

The Departure
Everything being planned during the fantastic "flights" at Remetea, Mihai thought that he (and Bila) were supposed to go first to Krakow. Surprisingly enough - Meri (a good friend, by the way, how are you Meri?) helped them to travel to Prague by a truck starting from Arad (actually i still remember that day very well : Mihai was kind of late, we went for a coffee at P. (for those who don't know: P. stands for Patricia) and then i drove him to the place where he could hh to Arad. I remember his backpack being rather small for a year-trip but probably too big from his point of view). Probably he made it to Arad and then Bila remembered that he has a friend in Brno, he contacted her and decided to make the first stop there. So: Prague, Krakow, Brno - the same, they were all on the way to Asia.

Mihai's First Step!

Ok my friends,
because i didn't have the possibilities (both financial and mental; i mean the courage) to join him
i decided to do something about Mihai's blog, i mean i'll try to make it readable for all his/my friends, not only for Romanian speakers.
First, the story:

Mihai's trip was planned for more than one year, but the lack of money and courage (of course he would never admit it) made him wait until the 2nd of May, 2007. Before that he took his friends to some mountains, where he organized a farewell party. But they were too drunk to remember who's going and where and that was the reason for the second farewell party, ending just 1 day before his departure. Here are some relevant pics.

PS: All the time when we went out for a beer (maximum 2) we talked about this trip, mainly about the spiritual part of it. The excitement was so big that after the first 2 beers, each time we ordered another one. I'm joking of course:).
